Lots of Family Time……..sigh

This is post one of two today.  Lot’s going on.  First let me bring you up to date.

So, we have kind of settled in to a real nice round trip from Chattanooga TN to Seattle WA.  It has worked out awesome for a number of reasons.  We have family at both ends and in the middle (Colorado) so we have gotten to spend lots of time with the kids, my parents and family and our grandkids.  Unfortunately, and fortunately, we have been down a lot as we try to get all the little things fixed on the truck.  We finally got the A/C fixed and then we had an emission problem.  We spent five says with the truck in the shop in Chattanooga and then ran to Washington with the promise we could deliver on Friday (the day after the 4th of July), wrong, stuck for the weekend and then when we got back to Chattanooga, the truck had to go back in the shop for another four days.  All seems to be working well now.  The best part is the part I was most pissed off about, getting stuck over the 4th of July weekend.  God was really watching out for us.  My Mom was out of town visiting my sister in Wisconsin so we were spending a great weekend with my Dad.  Saturday morning he had a small stroke.  If we had not been there I am not sure he even would have gone to the Doctor.  He pretty much fully recovered in 12 hours but he is now under a Doctors care and they have a plan.  Because of this I got to spend about a day and a half with my two brothers and even though the reason we got together sucked, it was pretty awesome.  I also got to spend time with my older sister whom I never get to see enough of.  Dad is doing great and the family is awesome.

On the way back to Chattanooga we were a day ahead of schedule so we stopped in Jackson Tennessee for something I have wanted to do for a long time, catch a Jackson Generals Baseball Game!  Jackson is the AA Affiliate for the Seattle Mariners and a great place to watch baseball.  It was $1 night.  $1 admission, $1 Hot Dogs, $1 drinks, $1 Popcorn….we bought a hat for a friend and spent more on the hat than everything else we spent combined.  Truck smoking so it was back to the shop for the weekend.  We got it back on Tuesday and running great, so time for the next adventure……..

Merci for the news. Where are you moving the tigers and others? We hope that the truck isn’t loaded with lemons (sic)? You know the old adage about making lemonade. Will send you a photo of our next-door neighbor here in the French countryside who is a “routier” (truck driver). His routes are obviously shorter, i.e. within France, so he gets home more often to wife and 2 teenage daughters. Last night Jacqueline got up at 3 AM as he was leaving home, (passing our two bushes – Tyler and Shelby)- said she felt like a “concierge” looking out of our window, i.e. the village busy-body. Your sort-of-cousin, Louis, was 14 yesterday.
