I experienced a beautiful moment today at Chick-Fil-A at the Northgate Mall in Hixson, Tn. Shelby and I had gone shopping and decided to have lunch while there. We placed our order. An older woman with a walker was behind us. She stepped up to order while some of the crew helped her. Her name is Miss Mary and it seemed the entire staff knew her. She placed her order and I couldn’t help but watch. They escorted her to her table. Someone brought her her food and the entire time the staff conversed with her, calling her by name. It was such a wonderful experience. She was asking them questions and you could tell she knew them and they knew her. I was impressed with the care they took with her. Every employee that interacted with her called her by name and was incredibly respectful.
I don’t eat at Chick-Fil-A very often but I was blown away by what I saw and have a new respect for this location. It was such a beautiful exchange and my hats off to all the employees!

When you know Mr. Truett Cathymakes upi wamt tp gp pit . Founder of Cjic-fil-A. then you can understand the high standard the employees are held to. His book “It’s Easier To Succeed Than To Fail”makes you want to go out and conquer the world!
The first time I ever ate at a Chic-Fil-A was the day after my mom passed away. We had just come from the funeral home after making arrangements and my Aunt told the manager (who happened to be waiting on us) where we just came from and they paid for our meal. Not just mine but all of ours because of the circumstances. I thought that was the most amazing thing ever. It was a light moment in the darkest time of my life at that point. Hats off to this Christian organization.
The more I hear about this company the more impressed I get. That was thoughtful of the manager and gives you a nice memory at such a dark time.
I teach at Hixson High School and many of the employees there were my former students. They are all great kids and this blog just tugged on my heartstrings….. makes me proud. Thanks!!
They are great kids!
I know Miss Mary. She is a lovely person and went to our church, when she lived out our direction. She would come to our knitting group and tell us wonderful stories, as would all the older ladies in our group. She goes to the mall as often as she is able and gives Chic-fil-a as much love as they give her. They never fail to give her respect and individual attention. I am thankful for the employees!
I will always smile when I think of Miss Mary.
